[Photos] Gloryhammer

When I heard about Gloryhammer I was very excited about the idea of “A bit like Alestorm, but sillier!” Then fate put them on a UK tour going past Leicester. Before I got to the venue I had bumped into two thirds of Headwires who were heading in the same direction.


The first band on were the really rather great Dendera. They were straight out of the new wave of British heavy metal school of music, and they were good at it.







Darkest Era were from NI, and you could tell. Or at least I could… They were a bit nosier and angrier, and not entirely to my taste.



They did a fine line in headbanging though, so I had plenty of fun photographing them.





By the time Gloryhammer came on the place had filled up a bit more. They lived up to their name, being by far the most glorious band on that night, and also by having hammers.
