Barb Wire Dolls in Nuneaton.

Dec 15, 2013 20:34

Back to the Queens Hall in Nuneaton again about 10 days ago, and again it is to see some punk. It was an unexpectedly free gig, as the singer of the main band, Isis, had hurt her arm at their Norich gig. It made it a bit more subdued than they normally would me, but a subdued Barb Wire Dolls gig is still quite some way off tea with vicar.

The pictures are under the cut )

"Punk's not dead". How sweet. To be fair, though, it did always smell like that.

Their front-man saw this as a great opportunity to practise his stand-up routine complete with jaunty little rude songs to sing at the audience.

Were dogs involved?

Rule number 3: Never sniff the punk band.

Were dogs involved?
I don't think so, mainly buggery.

Do you know if the sling was functional, or just costume?

I particularly like your shot of the drummer - did you catch him in the middle of balancing the stick on his finger, or was he doing some kind of fancy stick spin?

It was a functional sling. Their gig in Norwich a few days before ended prematurely with a trip to A&E.

Yes, the drummer was spinning the stick mid-beat :)
