otis redding's "sittin' on the dock of the bay" is probably the most underrated song ever. it's a lot deeper than i gave it credit for until about an hour ago. or maybe i'm just emotionally giving it more credit than it deserves.

jesus christ. me = retarded chode.

there was a period of my life where my friends were all off to new friend groups, and they all wanted me to come with them, but i couldn't go with them all...so the words "i can't do what ten people tell me to do so i guess i'll remain the same" became sort of my words to live by.
and then a few years later i had another friend group shift, and all of the sudden the words "sittin' here resting my bones, and this loneliness won't leave me alone. it's two thousand miles i roamed just to make this dock my home." popped out at me, and they became my new words to live by.
so i pretty much adore that song.
