July's uberlisting

Three things!

7. Read a book - Jul

The thing's over 1000 pages, yet it was only leaving the book somewhere that kept me from finishing George R.R. Martin's A STORM OF SWORDS before the end of the month. I wrapped up the epilogue this morning on the bus so screw it, it counts. Quite dug it - really enjoy tracking the divergences and choices made by the series in relation to the books. Some things Benioff & Weiss improve on, other moments are given more space and internalizing in the books (for example, Jaime Lannister is more interesting in the books, though Nikolaj Coster-Waldau plays him very, very well - his inner monologue is often priceless.). I want to get at least one more book down before the start of the next season of GAME OF THRONES - want to be ahead of the show for a change, and a nice shift in perspective (though the epilogue of A STORM OF SWORDS offered a HOLY SHIT moment not yet seen on the show.)

52. House of Sparrows entry - Jul

What I'd hoped would be a longer series on the Harry Potter movies (seeing them for the first time) has so far only resulted in one review, of the first movie, which I liked very much.

96. [REDACTED]

It continues. mm.
