1. I could sit and listen all day to Pratt and Taylor talk about the Canucks playoff run from 94 and the potential excitement of a playoff run this year - the potential for any kind of playoff run this year gets me giddy like no business ( Read more... )

1. ...the potential excitement of a playoff run this year

This statement is the best proof that the Canucks are going no farther than the second round. Remember 1995? 2003?

Besides, since it isn't likely the Flames and Canucks will see each other in the playoffs, neither team has a shot of making it to the Cup Finals (yes, I know the Flames made it in '86 without playing the Canucks, but Steve Smith doesn't play for the Predators).

yeah but in 95 McLean had already been ruined by Jeff Brown and his wife... and in 2003 we had Cloutier between the pipes.

and in 2007 you have Jan Bulis playing for you! Maybe Nonis can trade him for Samsonov in the offseason.....

You will NOT ruin my optimism. Also, I don't understand how my statement is proof that we are going no farther than the second round?

I get excited for every playoff run, and it's just exciting to be there again after a few years without it. It is going to ruin my studying for exams and I just don't care even a little bit. As a Flames fan you should know that having the best goalie in the league at the time is really all you need to make a deep run, and that is what we've got. Plus the undefeatable Sedins.

I want to get drunk at the Gallery too - just that hockey is the only thing that is actually important. How long does the Gall stay open? I can never remember - is it open through exams? Till end of April?

i also heard ominous rumours surrounding its reopening after that.
