Quick update

To update my possibly-cryptic post from yesterday: Went in Friday for an endoscopy and a colonoscopy. Endoscopy found that, yes, my mid-esophagus is rather constricted. In fact, they opened it up a bit just getting the endoscope through. Current theory is that it's allergy-related...no idea yet whether it's a food allergy or a pollen-type ( Read more... )

I'm relieved to hear that everything's okay. Jake and I were wondering why there was no Pavlovian dinner announcement last Thursday, now we know. I'm sorry to hear about your week of hell.

Thankfully I've never had food poisoning before. I thought I had something like it last year but it turned out to be a 24 hour flu bug. I can't imagine going through that kind of hell for more than a day.

... I thought that the dreaded colonoscopy was not recommended until the age of fifty.

I only had vomiting on Monday night, but my bowels were messed up for a few days afterwards...and then, as noted, I was into the pre-op purge.

They change the rules on colonoscopies when you have an immediate family history of colon cancer.
