James' stepmom is head of a department at MUN if you need some tips on Newfie things. She's been out there for a few years now and had to figure it all out for herself too - she's bound to have some excellent scholar-approved tips to share. If it happens that you do decide on NFLD, I can see what she knows.

Oh god..you should definately go to Newfoundland. I have a million relatives who live there who feel comfortable opening their doors to complete strangers, too.
Cape Spear is beauuuutiful. Oh god, I can't even describe how amazing it is.
