Weekly weigh-in

Mar 30, 2008 08:34

I missed out on the next level Nutribear by a mere pound! I went down three pounds this week, for a total weight loss of 19 pounds. My total weight has gone from 245 to 226 in just five weeks. I am seeing and feeling a tremendous difference.

If I get skinny enough can I be your cosmic shadow?

Well, they only send the bears with your next shipment anyway, so you should still get it at the same time you would if you'd gotten the extra pound this week. :-)

Or, you could lie to them. ;-0

There's no point in lying to them. I figured it wouldn't come until my next shipment, by which time I can reasonably be expected to shave off that final pound. I've got about 20 days or so in which to do it, so it shouldn't be much of a strain. It's just that I'd been averaging four pounds a week, and then this week, at the threshold of that milestone (to mix metaphors), I come up a pound shy.

I wonder if my weight loss is going to slow down a bit now. I mean, I hope not, but it wouldn't surprise me if it did.

I'm so glad for you. I wanted to do it, but it's kinda pricey for me.

Well, I figured it this way:

They're supplying my breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus a snack and a dessert. I have to supplement with vegetables and a small amount of protein and such, but the cost per meal per day, on average, was pretty reasonable, I thought.

And when you consider I would usually stop and get a sandwich and stuff at a deli for lunch, it might actually be saving me money, and it's worth it since I'm losing weight and not feeling deprived.

You can order their stuff a la carte, too, so you might want to check out their lunches, or their dinners, just for starters.

Hi there. My name's Erik. I found your journal through why-a-duck's LJ. I started reading your entries without really paying attention to the dates and decided that I wanted to add you to my f-list. It wasn't until after I added you that I realized your current posts are probably behind a friends filter. It'd be great if you added me back, but I'll completely understand if you choose not to. No worries :)

So I've been curious about Nutrisystem for a while. How do you like it? Are the meals tasty? Were you able to keep the weight off? Are you still on it? Inquiring minds want to know...

Hi, Erik. Sure, I'll add you to my f-list, too.

I'm pretty happy with Nutrisystem. It's the only diet that's worked for me, mostly because I need to learn portion control, and this is all pre-packaged.

The meals are surprisingly good and satisfying, and the plan itself keeps you less likely to "cheat" if you like to snack. I really don't get hungry and want to wander off the reservation if I follow the plan.

I've slipped recently, because it's summer, and I like barbecueing and drinking beer, which are actually synonymous. And my work schedule has changed just enough to where I haven't adjusted my eating schedule to it. So I may have gained back a couple of pounds. Feels like I did, anyway. But I will get back on the horse after vacation next month, because I haven't reached my goal yet, and this plan does truly work.
