1. The location of the scene on the Scholastic cover shows a circular amphitheatre, whereas, in OotP, the veil room is described as rectangular. I guess we can discount it being the veil room - although the ragged "curtains" do seem to fit the description of the veil ( Read more... )

the circular amphitheatre reminded me immediately of the Acropolis. I never thought of the veil room, OR the veil. The curtains being tied back did not suggest the veil to me. I wondered instead if Voldie and Harry had a fight to the death in front of an audience (plainly visible round the ramparts of the amphitheatre) of deatheaters, much as the Gladiators of ancient Rome fought to the death. Unlikely, I know, but that was my initial thoughts on seeing the cover.

Interesting though . . . .
