the message board failed because we have msn, livejournal, and mobile phones, it really is that simple. it serves no purpose as a means of communication because we have better ways of talking to each other, and nobody uses it anymore to arrange things because of the following 4 reasons:
1) it means every single member is invited to whatever event you propose
2) the flipside of number 1 is that people check the message board sporadically now, so you're likely to get a) someone you don't want coming to a small event or b) no-one coming to a large event
3) we're all at university at the moment anyway so arranging things via the message board is pointless
4) everyone just uses livejournal or texts now to arrange things
as for when the message board was used for those jokey posts where people would link to hilarious websites or tell a few jokes, that again has been replaced by livejournal. the message board will probably get slightly more active over the next 5 months due to us being back at home, so don't worry too much.
