Jason called promptly at seven o'clock. I didn't even have to look at the clock to verify this, because this is the time my mom traditionally rolls everyone out of bed on Thanksgiving; her philosophy is that if she has to be awake to cook, everyone else has to be awake to keep her company. Everyone hates this tradition, but none of us exactly ( Read more... )

I am sure the turkey was grateful even for the few extra hours it was graced with.

I think the turkey thought I was insane. Plus, it scratched the hell out of my arms. He was ungrateful, but then again, my dad had spent the first half of the week in the yard sharpening his knife and talking about how we was going to cook it, I wouldn't trust a human either.

At least it wasn't an axe, a knife seems less frightening somehow.

At this point, I don't even know how he expected me to kill the thing. I guess I was supposed to catch it and cut off it's head, but there is no way that would have happened. This makes me want to become a vegetarian just thinking about it.

I wouldn't openly admit to listening to that but then again, I still eat crayons.

It's a great album, I can't help it. I was going to post it for people to take, but I figured that it's one of those things that's worth spending the money like I did. I'm sure I would eat paste again if I didn't have the ulcer.

Thank you! You're welcome to post it if you want, I kind of encourage people to download my music if they feel the need. Eating paste always reminds me of Ralph Wiggum.

I might post all the holiday albums, then, because they are, by far, my favorite thing to listen to late November all the way through December. I've already turned a lot of people on to you to be honest. You've got a lot of talent. Now that you mention it, eating paste reminds me of him, too. Whoops, better stick with the crayons.

I can really relate to some of this madness. I come from a large family too, two sisters, a brother, and 4 nephews. I've missed a few Thanksgivings, but my mom has learned to forgive me. I try to make up for it sometimes by giving her a nice gift. Anyway, enough about me!

How many siblings do you have? And are you going to make it up to your mom? I've not been to Oregon, but I hear it's a nice place.

That is a big family. I've got two brothers and a sister. One of my brothers and my sister are adopted, which you can probably gather from this. I've only ever missed two Thanksgivings. That I missed it again this year means I'm in big trouble, but what can you do? I'm going to buy her an obnoxiously expensive Christmas present and suck up. I'm the baby, I can get away with it. I come from really small town in Oregon. It's homey. It's better than LA, anyway.

No shit? Do you have a lot of siblings that like to torture you, too? And are you the baby? People always seem to think that the youngest kids have it the easiest, but in my experience, it's been the worst.

So, you'll probably say that is was worse for you even though you got to drive first and all that. But you probably had to taxi your brothers around all the time and since you were the oldest, you had to be good so that you can set the example, am I right?

I tried to chase out chickens one year, when I was younger of course, because I wanted to spare them the slaughter.

Yes, that definitely sounds like something that I would do. Did you ever try to save the frogs from your high school biology lab? I would have wanted to, but ours were already dead when we got them.
