Call me old-fashioned, but I like the crotch of my pants to be, well, somewhere near my crotch. Hence the name ( Read more... )

I totally agree. I also don't want to see anyone's underwear. If for some reason the pants are too big, get a belt! I really don't see how walking around with your pants around practically your thighs can be comfortable.

I haven't seen the "showing the underwear" thing for awhile, they just seem to have stretched out distance between the waist and the crotch and started keeping the waist at the waist again. For me, I just put that in the category of style that I don't understand. I really don't care if I see someone's underwear. Just as with the crotch down at the ankles, I mostly have a problem when it becomes a functional issue. Some of the kids seemed to get it to ride their hips just right, and others were basically having to walk around pulling up their pants constantly. It's when fashion makes your like more difficult that it seems stupid. Pulling my pants up constantly or taking little penguin steps for fashion seems the sort of logic that eventually lead to food-binding.
