I understand NaNoWriMo backing away from AI. There's a spectrum of ability to write, and if you use quill, cocaine, the Hermes 3000, Ritalin, AI, or a Uniball Signo DX 0.38, it's up to you. It's too hard to gatekeep. They're throwing their hands up and saying "you challenge yourself they way you want".
That's why I also support the Olympics, the Special Olympics, Gender categories and rigorous gender checks, Weight categories and rigorous weight checks, Height categories, No Doping Categories, No Weapons Categories, and a Doped-Up All Gender All Bodies Any Weapons Battle Royale one Survivor Wins Olympics. Have an Olympics Literal Deathmatch Calvinball. Whatever. It's all sportsball.
You guys and your recreational rules. They're all arbitrary, and I support them all, as long as the participants understand what they're getting into. Except of course where "Rule 1: You don't know what you're getting into."
