Apparently it is now ILLEGAL IN CALIFORNIA to require I.D. from voters.

What is wrong with everyone in California?

Proof of vaccination to shop for groceries during COVID? Californians were cool with that.

Proof of residency or eligibility to vote? Californians say that is ILLEGAL!

It's illegal to always require ID. Sometimes ID is required. This new state law is something to do with Huntington Beach's Measure 1, always requiring the IDs. Voter eligibility requirements have been used as a tool to keep targeted people disenfranchised, so they should be carefully scrutinized. I don't know what exactly got CA's Attorney General all up in arms about it in this case though.

It'll be interesting to see if there's anybody in Huntington Beach that's going to test the law by trying to vote without ID.
