Bob Dylan did a Victoria's Secret commercial last year--does that mean he's forever off the list? John Cleese has done lots of commercials--is he consigned to artistic oblivion too? Hicks liked speaking in absolutes, which can be refreshing but ends up being dogmatic. I wonder what Snoop will say to Hicks when they meet up in heaven.

Hicks qualified that remark: he said it goes for everyone except willie nelson. so not quite an absolute. besides: IT WAS A JOKE! I'm sure Cleese laughed when he heard it, and nodded sagely about Leno.

snoop dogg is way too baked to care. and i can't fault him for that. oh no, not me, no sir.

i agree that commercials can be "high" art. bill hicks was right to be wary about them, but you gotta admit, some of them are some pretty fucked up shit to watch when yr. hella stoned.
