2017 was my 15th (!!!!) Mystery Hunt. I haven't been able to make it back to Cambridge for 5 of the last 6 years, though, and I hunted from the Bay Area again this year. Wow you looked at a lot of puzzles.

One thing I struggle with every Hunt is feeling like I only see maybe 1% of what Hunt has to offer. Can you say more about how you approach individual puzzles and the hunt in general, and your strategy for how to have fun during the hunt?

For me, it's pretty simple: I have a short attention span, eavesdrop on people on my room (and on Slack etc) and tend to flit around from puzzle to puzzle. While I certainly enjoy focusing on one puzzle for an hour or three (see Sheshach and the Duck Kondundrum in this Hunt, two of my highlights), I also enjoy just being a gadfly and helping out here and there - doing a grind of data lookup on a puzzle for a bit, helping folks get unstuck on another puzzle for a moment, etc ( ... )
