Damn gurl, that was a fabulous review. I liked your point about the crappy vehicles. Not only does it show "the real world", but Bond's uncanny ability to manuver these beaters effectively and escape unscathed. He kicks ass, duh.
I also adore that Bond (Daniel Craig's specifically, seeing as I am not too familiar with other Bonds) appreciates/commemorates deceased Bond girls to some degree. Fields was so amazing and I'm glad he wasn't aloof and detatched like, "Meh, I fucked her. She died. Better her than me!"
I liked the fast-pace of this one, because it still managed to be smart and house the plot. It didnt drone on with character development but it still got everyone's appropriate emotions, especially poor 'M', whose trust was completely shattered. I would say"she's getting too old for this", but HELL NO, she's Judi Fucking Dench.
YAY! I am glad you liked my very long-winded review.
I have to agree that Daniel Craig's Bond tends to respect the women more than previous Bond's, though Dalton and Lazenby were similar (but to a lesser degree) to Craig in this way. Either way, he is still more kind to women featured in the films than Connery or Moore.
I like the increased action sequences, but I think a little more complex plot would have been nice for rewatching purposes, but oh well, it was still interesting enough to grab your attention and make you embrace the characters emotions.
Judi Dench is my hero. There is nothing more to say. You don't get to be a 'Dame' by not being fabulous.
