"Well, looks, you know, deceiving."

Feb 26, 2009 11:05

I tried writing this review while re-watching the episode ("Hit Me Baby")... so it seems more like random quotes and notes at points, but whatever.

"I have a feeling that you are at the other side of the world, looking at things I could only imagine."-- Deepa (spelling?) is amazing, I hope she is a recurring character... please?

"I would hate to break the law, because I am kind of a cop" "Kind of? I would think that you are either a cop or you're not a cop." "I'm a cop."

Costuming fails at hiding Sarah Shahi's pregnancy, but it fills me with warm feelings of the old days of season two X-Files and Gillian Anderson's ridiculous trench coats...

"Man on a stick..."

"Yeah, a pipe is good, you can feel it when the bone breaks. Too much information?" - I keep hoping that we will find out what Charlie did to the correction officer while he was at Pelican Bay in one of these episodes... (that wasn't explained in depth anywhere in an episode right, correct?)

I have to admit that I looked up "derivatives" after watching this episode, and discovered that Ted's explanation is VERY close to the one on wikipedia.... so I am afraid I am still a layman-woman.

Also, when Charlie first sees the pigeon and is surprised, I thought he ran into the glass door instead of the bird hitting the glass.... as did my roommate who was half watching the episode.... it was immensely funny.

With the whole situation with Reese going to the FBI joint taskforce, my first thought was LOL, TOM COLTON AND DANA SCULLY! (See X-Files Season One Episode 3- Squeeze) After that wore off I started to wonder if Tidwell knew that it was about Crews or not when he got Reese involved... I am highly intrigued.

"You gotta put in a good foundation, or everything you build after that will come tumbling down."- Oh Charlie, I love you. And your kindergarten teacher. "Ah, they grow up so fast, don't they?"

"Reese usually starts... maybe you could... why don't I just jump in?" --Crews with no Reese... saddest thing ever.

"Bobby, I requested you."- Because Charlie has the tendency to have all of his actions planned out in depth, I was kind of thinking he made sure he was partnered up with him for a reason... I was wrong. And happily, because their interactions this episode were fabulous, and I love Stark about ten times more than before.

"Guessing you prayed for other things?" "Yeah, I did. I prayed for other things." --THANK YOU LIFE. I am SO glad that hte show has begun to actually mention Charlie's time in prison more than the last few episodes, and a little more influencing on the case, but more is better, do you hear me writers?

I loved everyone trying to explain derivatives, it's a classic. Also, Ted is FINALLY given a little more to do this episode... and even helps with the case, I am glad that Adam Arkin is playing a more major role.

I have to admit I didn't REALLY love Helen McCrory in the last episode. I mostly accepted her purely for being Damian Lewis' wife, but this time she was more interesting and given more to do than sit in a room and talk with Charlie. Though it was necessary last episode to set up her character and motivations, it was fairly boring... except for the fact that she is talking to Damian Lewis, which in the real world context is hilarious.

"Bobby, do you have a question you would like to ask of Ms. Trill?" "Probably want to work up to that one." "Now that's a great question, wasn't that a great question?"

"Yeah, married, yep. To the law, married to the law. "-- Aww Charlie. I thought Jennifer was going to be mentioned, but it seems like Crews first response is to think he is still married, which is kind of sweet. Or it is possible I am reading too much into this and that he just didn't want to have to deal with prostitutes coming on to him so he automatically copied Stark's response. (I have to mention, Damian was FAR to sexy and adorable in this scene...)

"A lay what?!?"

"Bobby, how come you never see a baby pigeon?" "You know, your right. Where the hell are all the baby pigeons?"-- This exchange is priceless because you know Reese would have NEVER put up with Charlie's random questions/thoughts and even agreed with his observations in the end.

"I have nothing to hide." "Well then you would be the first." "Aren't you going to turn the machine on?" "It's been on." -- This woman is incredibly intimidating, especially with her "We'll come back to this" statements.

Ted is so sweet when he tries to stop Helen McCrory Amanda from smoking... I have missed you Ted!

OMG I LOVE THE DEEPA/CHARLIE SCENES. I think I now ship them. Honestly. Charlie shows even more happiness when he was talking to her, I want more! Also, "Do you think two people can be perfect for each other?"-- Who other than Charlie would ask a tech support person that? NO ONE. That is why Charlie is amazing.

"I don't know this Reese, I don't know this Stark." -- Oh honey, you should. Watch 'Life,' its on NBC 9/8central.

"Technically, don't you think it is amazing that I'm here in LA and you're in - let's say India- giving me tech support for a phone made in China?"

"Gotta sit somewhere..."-- I don't normally overly love Tidwell and Reese, but this scene was kind of sweet of Tidwell...

I am now afraid of randomly dropping my tv into a shower (no baths in dorms) after accidently getting nail polish in the socket...

"Hitman-woman"-- Charlie, you never fail to make me laugh.

"All we really know is what we don't know." -- Isn't that always true? I like this phrase a lot for some reason.

The pigeon master guy is in everything, you know? He is just one of those actors who appears in EVERYTHING. Moving on...

"He said he knew a transvestite named Angel who made a great carrot cake." "Okay..."-- AWWW! 'Fallen Woman' is probably one of my favorite episodes, and I loved that quote the first time... it just got better. I knew Reese only pretended not to care about the stories Charlie would tell her!

"Everybody breaks Bobby, you've got to know that going in."--Damn.

I was laughing when I saw that Bobby drives the car, I wonder if he insisted on it like Reese did.

Alexa= annoying when she pretends to be the chef... both myself and my roommate hoped she would die... and not flirt with the sexiness that is Damian Lewis.

"Different, but the same. The same, but different."-- Funny, that is how I describe the early part of the second season...

"This was fun, I like to try everything once." "Well you can cross it off your list."

Ted, you are so cute trying to drop the line about Charlie being a detective, are you trying to impress Damian Lewis' wife her?

"Do you think you can tell who a person is just by looking in their eyes?" "That's a strange question to ask a woman who spends her life talking to a person she will never meet."

Charlie and Deepa fangirling the buddha's birthplace, I love it.

DON'T GO TO TALK TO THE EVIL HITMAN-WOMAN CHARLIE!!!

"You are very good with a knife." "I have had some practice." "But not cooking?" --The badass side of Charlie!

"Well, looks, you know, deceiving." -- Great Charlie quote, hence the title of this review.

I am glad the diet soda thing was important to the plot... otherwise that scene would have been VERY strange. But that is one of the many things I like about 'Life,' little details always seem to come into play later in the story.

"How are you doing without Reese? Maybe you should talk to someone." -- Charlie, you crack me up. Especially how you will tell anyone ANYTHING.

"Hey Bobby, wait for me to get there."-- You all knew that once Charlie said that Bobby would go in, right? *sigh*

"You know it's against the law to talk on your phone like that? If you want to go hands-free I've got someone you can talk to." -- Charlie continuing to advertise for Deepa's company.

"Crews? You're doing it, aren't you? Staring at something? And now you are taking out some fruit, right?"--Reese knows Charlie so well... I love this sort of dialogue.

Crews+large gun=sexy

"Sir, are you telling me these things hands-free? Because then I should close this casefile." --classic ending of an episode

"It was a pleasure talking to you Deepa." "It was a pleasure talking to you, Detective Crews." *cue cute smiles*

This comment has more to do with the last episode... but I just wanted to say how glad I am that Rayborn is dead, because I don't think I could take much more of his acting, something about him just drove me CRAZY. Anyway.

damian lewis, review, quotes are the only correct way to speak, 15 pounds of pure bunny
