I would interpret it as a positive sign about the culture here on LJ. It's still very fannish and there are a lot of people who knew Kate or heard about her.

People are still inventing how to use the internet. Even though the internet goes at internet speeds, people still are awake 18/7.
In time, facebook will be one with AOL and fidonet.
