The only reason I said "I guess" to cream puffs is that I couldn't remember for a moment what they were.
I do like them.
And, while it might be possible for me to attend Dragon*Con, I have not made any plans to do so.
While I used to live in Atlanta, the move to Jersey, underemployment, threat of imminent school, and pursestrings attached to what jobs I do have, all conspire to keep me in this lovely state.
Which is a shame: many of my friends attend D*C regularly. The only plus side is that one of my bitter exes doesn't have to experience me. Of course, that's only her prerogative: I don't mind running into her. Our friendship/ hatred is a one-way street.
Kudos on your Dawn costume by the way. Thank you for spending time on a costume instead of strips of fabric. While I have never been to the contest, I have heard many horror stories of variously shaped, natural redheads with unwieldy ratios of body to costume.
I can't blame you at all for not hauling the looooong way to GA. I've only been once (we drove! road trip!!), mostly I was just curious. ^___^;
Hmm...thank you very much for the compliment, but I have never done a Dawn costume. Though I agree, most people will make something and go "OH HOLY CRAP!" and add a red wig and some make up and go "haha check me out! Totally unplanned, but um...it was planned! Really!"
Also, what is a good way to meet people in DC? I'm going nuts. I just moved to Northern VA (this past fall) and live and work right off the metro line and I know NO ONE. ARG!
Um, I wouldn't know how to meet people in DC. I was just abbreviating Dragon*Con further.
While I have been to the Lord Mayor's house in Dublin, and sung in Southwark Cathedral in London, I have yet to set foot in my own, native capital.
I would try to find something along the lines of craigslist, nycgeek or soulgeek. If you meet people at local conventions, that's a pretty good way to find people who share your interests.
LJ also has various ways: it's how I met tscheese, and thus you.
I'm looking to answer your question for myself, so I'll keep you posted.
