Situation is as follows:

You have broken up with your boyfriend/girlfriend. They then start talking to you about how much they hate their present relationship and then go on to tell you what they miss about you.

Why? What does it mean?

It means that he's an asshole. And if he's not an asshole, then he's just ignorant. Because:
A. He left you for "greener" pastures, and now has the good sense to want back in, even though you're *ahem* SUPPOSED to be trying to get over him, or
B. He actually believed you when you told him you'd settle for "just friends." He thinks of you as a confidante, oblivious to the pain you're going through.
