Long overdue...
Well, I guess I've been a bit quiet of late, and with good reason; I've been working my tits off! Oh well I've had a long day that's gonna get longer so I'll have a brain dump on here :)
Infest
toxi_0,richarddlscott,yhd,purplefreakgirl,me_confused_,atr0city,dragqueen_13, stu, alissa and myself did descend upon Bradford University for the Infest... WOO! (For those of you not in the know it is a festival of goth electronic music, lots of hard drums, blips beeps and glow sticks :P.)
Friday was a drive down in the afternoon followed by a mad dash to get ready in time for the evenings music, ending with me not having eaten almost all day. Some of you may be aware what this means, those that went with me now are... Yes I got a tiny bit miffed, I was hungry, it happens... It's not like I shouted at anyone, much...
The Friday night bands were great! Much dancing and spinning devil sticks did happen. Yay for dancing! Yay for devil sticking, although I think I may have made toxi_0 jealous of the devil sticks, ie wanting me to play with her instead of them >;). THe evenings live music went off with a bang culminating in the amazing Lights Of Euphoria, who were great until the bloody fire alarm went off! It pissed us off but I guess it was nothing compared to the rest of the weekend! After the djs we went back to the halls for a bit of a party and well, I met loadsa cool people but it seems that only one had a live journal, schwarzes_engel who I think was one of the three guys I met in the first kitchen who with friends was dragged to another party. Hmmm...
Had a lot of fun that night with Wolfie, Fudge(Thankyou for introducing me to the delights of "Mind in a box"-> go listen to them now!!!), Orange man and others too I was too inebriated to remember the names of (Anyone with contact details pwease).
Meh well Friday merged into Saturday and eventually myself and jenni (toxi_0)hit the hay at 7am... Although according to all sources I had yet to stop dancing even though music had ceased to be played for a looong time.
Saturday was another awsome night. I went without devil sticks though, they had been banned by jenni :P That night the fire alarms really pissed us off sooo much, I think we had 3 or 4 of the buggers! Oh well, at least I saw the awesome Plastic and Suicide Commandos who finished with the awesome Hellraiser. After the evenings bands we went to Fudge's for another party (spot the recurring theme), and after more music dring and dancing,( yes I still hadn't stopped! ) toxi_0 and I finally crashed at 6am. Unfortunately toxi had a poorly tummy and I had to look after her... aww... Eventually toxi felt a little better and around 12pm we got to sleep for an hour or two.
Sunday was a mad panic, as we got up way too late! (See Saturday ;) ) Anyway we stressed a bit but got to Infest just in time to catch Assemblage 23, who whilst good I wasn't too impressed with. Maybe I was a bit too tired to appreciate them? THe DJ's picked up the mood though and I was soon dancing again (Aha again! )
After the show came yet another party, but this time it was a groovy official after show party in the 1 in 12 club. Woo what a place... Dark dingy and sooo suited to the event, full of uv lights and everything. I didnt realise there was a dj for a while till i found him hiding in a broom cupboard! Yeah it was that kinda place :D
Soo it was another 6am head home for a final hour or two before the ride home... Oooh and we had Sausage and Egg McMuffins mmmmmm (well i did anyway :) )
Wow what a buzz...
Since infest I have been trying to tie then ends of my rapidly fraying threads together... Work is hard and there is a lot of it but hey what can ya do. Well there is one thing ya can do... But I'll just go on smiling! Oh and the joy of Maelstrom downtime... Ooh that means pub meet with wulfboy and ed_fortune tomorrow, yay!
Meh better stop rambling so I can finish werk in preparation for Freshers week, yes they are letting me loose on a bunch of innocents, Muah ha ha ha haaaa! They are all dooomed...
