$700 Large Room in Queer-Friendly 3 Bed Apt, 10 min to Davis and Tufts June 1 or sooner
We are two women seeking a third person to join our convenient, homey, and well-maintained Davis Square apartment for a one-year lease beginning on June 1. The apartment is on the 2nd floor of a 3-family house, in a great location less than a 10-minute walk to Davis Square, a 3-minute walk to Teele Square, and a 10-minute walk to Tufts. Davis Square is on the Red Line for an easy subway ride to Harvard, MIT or downtown. Great spot for a professional or a grad student.
The available room is spacious and has exclusive access to a small enclosed front porch as well as a good sized closet. It is at the front of the house facing Broadway, but the road noise isn’t bad. There is clean, dry storage space and a coin-op washer and dryer in the basement, and also a clothesline on the back porch if you prefer to air-dry your laundry. There is a full, well-supplied kitchen with dishwasher. The ample on-street parking requires a Somerville parking sticker. You would share the bill for for gas, electricity, and wireless Internet - $60-$120 a month per person depending on the season. We currently have no cable TV or land telephone line. If you don’t have your own furniture we can loan you the basics while you get settled in.
We are in our early 30s, and are responsible and respectful. You don’t need to be the same age, but please likewise be responsible and respectful. We like to keep our common areas clean, but are not neat freaks. We are non-smokers and strongly prefer a non-smoker. We have one well-behaved older cat, who is, unfortunately, unable to tolerate any new pets (he’s shy). We respect vegetarians (and have both been vegetarians in the past), but do sometimes cook meat in the apartment. LGBTQ folks of all genders are welcome. We are mostly quiet; sometimes we have dinner parties or celebrations or have friends over, but not wild parties. We like to play games and watch science fiction, read books, talk about politics and television, and are somewhat nerdy in our interests. We’re each involved in our community - singing groups, dancing, book clubs, political stuff, etc. If you’re new to town, we know the area well and have a pretty wide social circle, and would be happy to show you around.
Our next lease begins on June 1, but the room is available now. If you would like to move in sooner, that can be arranged. You would pay the first month’s rent and security deposit by June 1; we could prorate May depending on how much of May you are here.
If this sounds like a good fit for you or someone you know, reply with an email address where we can reach you.
