Before we begin, we need a bit of background here.

In Januray 2005, Kyle was here visiting me in Oz. During his visit, we subjected ourselves to two of the worst performances of any sort (live or recorded) that I think either of us has ever seen.  They were truly awful.  I won't go into full details here, but I'll provide you with the basics here.

Aw, I didn't think Superman Returns was that bad. The worst movie I ever paid money to see was Van Helsing. So don't make the same mistake I did!

Actually, I've seen it, and it qualified as "thoroughly mediocre" in my books. This was far, far worse....

Northfield!

Well, look on the bright side! Jesse James was defeated when he tried to rob the bank in Northfield, Minnesota! There's a yearly reenactment during the annual fall festival, "Defeat of Jesse James Days," or to the local college students, just "Jesse James Days." (The locals get uptight about keeping the defeat part in there . . .)

Actually, one of the few informative bits of narration to the movie basically said that since his death, Jesse James has been immortalized, and people keep flocking to see stuff that was associated with him.

His killer (who was himself shot dead several years later) was given no such (dubious) honours.
