I've been involved in writing joke news pieces for popular* satirical site Newsthump, and when I say "Social experiment", I really mean "trolling lefties for money", which is rather what I expect it to be like when I die and go to heaven

Essetnailly the British left is still tied to the idea of socialism - in the 'public ownership of the means of production, distribution and exchange' sense. Many are wise enough to realise that's an idea which has been tested to destruction, but there's a significant minority of downright bozos who stick to the 'it'll totally work next time if you give us another go' idea. This minority of bozos are busily staging a coup to the labour party and sincerely believe the British people will sweep them to power in the next election.

Downright delusional, I know, but there you go.

Essentially Blair made a genuine crack at Scandinavian social democracy and discredited it by killing 100,000 iraqis and driving the economy into a tree so the left is retreating to it's comfort zone where the electorate will not follow it.

you misinterpret what is going on re Corbyinites. It's not that they think your piece is supportive. It's that they have little sense of humour and therefore satire goes straight over their heads.
