Tina Cohen-Chang || GLEEmorbidbubblesMay 28 2011, 00:57:04 UTC
Setting 1: [Tina's reclining on the bed, still not feeling well. She's bored and a little lonely, there's nothing on TV and she doesn't feel like getting up yet. So she'll try and bide her time either reading or fiddling with her cellphone]
Setting 2: [Tina's out somewhere public, maybe a restaurant, maybe school, maybe just on the street. But wherever she is, she definitely doesn't look OR feel well.] ...I shouldn't have left the house...
[It was a little under thirty minutes when Artie turned up. Mr Cohen-Chang looked surprised to see him, but let him in without anything other than polite small talk. Artie knew where the guest bedroom was - he'd stayed there on odd occasions when they were best friends.]
[He knocked softly on the door, waiting for the sick person to answer.]
[A squeak of bed-springs followed by a deep, rough cough could be heard approaching the door. Tina, paler than normal and her nose slightly red from blowing her nose, opened the door. Her voice was slightly gravelly] ...Hey.
[Tina tried to smile, though she knew she looked and sounded awful. But it was really sweet of Artie to come spend time with her, and truth be told she was starved for real human contact] C'mon in. [She headed back to the bed, coughing into her arm before propping up her pillows so she could sit up] Welcome to the Infected Zone.
[She rolled her eyes, unamused] Unless people start having sex to my voice, no thank you. [She grabbed a tissue and blew her nose, tossing it into the nearby garbage basket and then squirting some hand sanitizer on her hands. The clarity of her voice periodically went in and out] I think I fink I go' it from one of my cousins when they came to visit.
[She shook her head] It's just a pain to go up and down the stairs all day. I've gone to sleep in my own bed at night once or twice, but usually I end up passing out down here.
[He gives her a shy smile back. They are still in this weird phase, not quite knowing what they want, whether to stay as friends or try again and see if they can make it work this time. The main thing though is that they are friends.] So... I figured we could watch something?
Psh, tell me somethin' I don' know. No one besides my parents seems to know what a condom is.
[She gives a light, amiable shrug. She's not sure where they stand - they're definitely friends, but is that all there is for them? Would a second chance be worth taking? She likes watching stuff with Artie, but all she really wants right now is a hug or a kiss. But she can't find it in herself to articulate that desire] Yeah, that sounds good!
[Artie laughs at her, and heads over to the large pile of DVDs.] Any one in particular?
[He glances back at her from the DVD pile.] I know this is cheeky, but do you mind if I sit on the bed with you? I've spent too long in my chair today, and should probably move about.

Not crashing in your room? Or is this closer to the kitchen for you?

So what's up with you?

[He gives her a sympathetic look.] Oh hey, did you want me to get you anything?
Nothing much. Bored, missing my best friend.

No, not right now, I'm fine. Thanks, though.
[She smiles a little at that] Yeah? I missed you too.
