Interesting thoughts. I've signed up for a fic exchange this year. As a writer, I've always looked on the list of content requests as a guideline for writers who may not have encountered the recipient in fandom before. As a reader, I firmly believe that if you have some moral or personal reason for not reading some kinds of fic it's wise to list it, because if I got an X rated fic as a gift I would not read it (however well it was executed
