I've been back from New York now. It was a good trip. I still don't know if I could move there, but at least now it seems much more like a reality. Studio visits were perhaps the most helpful. I was intending to imply that his humor was very stereo-typically guy-oriented. Not that I didn't know his gender. I probably didn't state that clearly through my wording.

As for the quote, it is taken way out of context. You're trying to make sense of it given that it is out of context is interesting though :)
I was mostly interested in the last sentence of that quote. But in general I found myself disagreeing with a lot of what Malevich had to say about art. Mostly because his ideas around Suprematism sound a little naive and self important through the eye of history. I'm sure at the time it was great though.

A true, absolute order in human society could only be achieved if mankind were willing to base this order on lasting values.

Dr. Jon Darling, sociology professor at UPJ, was the instructor for my Social Problems class. In the class, he taught the "VNAB" model... that is, "Values lead to Norms... Norms lead to Attitudes... Mostly because his ideas around Suprematism sound a little naive and self important through the eye of history. To me, the name "Suprematism" itself sounds self-important. :} Then if you take something relatively simple and build it up by suggesting that it takes a heightened cognizance to recognize the ( ... )

You got the same result as me. Personally, I think the Calvin Coolidge joke was the funniest of the whole thing.

I'm sad that you refer to us as your "f-list". Why, you are on my d-list, at least!

And apparently... I'm "a Ham". Yum.
