Sometimes you come a little too close to disaster

I witnessed a really bad, (miraculously) single-car accident this morning. It shook me up for several hours afterwards, and I want to know what happened to the driver, both before and after the accident. There must have been something wrong with either him or his car to drive like that, especially in moderately heavy traffic

I almost got hit by a car once while crossing the road... it's sort of a complicated story. Obviously I'm fine, but the person, who saw me, didn't even stop to check or anything, and I was shaken up for a long time about that. Although I don't know the exact situation, I can imagine how you might feel.
