I have a MacBook Pro. I bought a used one off of ebay before I left the states! It has done me good so far despite my trying to break it time and time again.

Would you recommend it over a desktop computer, or do you have a desktop computer also?

I used to have a desktop, an iMac, and I enjoyed it. My laptop is more powerful (Macbook Pro vs. iMac) and more mobile--which is absolutely essential for my job. Considering you have to pay more for less--usually, with a laptop, I would spend time thinking about how often I would need to take my computer around with me. I really did fine with a desktop back in the states.

I'm not sure what I would purchase in the future, I think it would depend on my living/working situation.
