Hey Dawn! Long time no chat, but I just wanted to mention that I've been loving your recent art updates. Morocco must be so fascinating, it's a place I've always wanted to visit. Hopefully someday. :)

Keep it up!

Thank you for the comments! It has been a while.

All I can say is if you visit in the next year you have a place to crash! :)

Nice picture. Difficult to imagine floods in a desert country, though...

We have more than desert! I'm actually living in a fertile stretch between the mountains to the Eest and the Atlantic Ocean to the West.

I think part of the problem is not having an ecosystem to deal with all the water that came down. I'm sure a rainforest has less "flooding" issues as it is normally absorbed into the ecosystem. I say this without having lived in a rainforest, so I could be wrong.

Actually, I think floods occur anywhere it rains. It's just that in a rain forest, where it rains all the time, the floods go largely unnoticed, because they are, to all intents and purposes, the natural state of things.

In a dry country where it rains once in a blue moon, the floods are pretty noticeable because they go where they aren't expected...

That was what I meant, and I think you said it better :)

Lisa! Dawners! YOU ARE IN MOROCCO. I can't believe how amazing you are! :D What languages are you learning?

Your art is superb as always... I should have kept better track of my friends from my old account. I'll keep an eye on you again now ;)

It is really my fault for completely abandoning LJ for about 10 months since I got here. I was just glad I could find your new journal. Your work continues to amaze me!

Yes, I am here in Morocco. I am learning Moroccan Arabic, although everyone assumes I am french or know french. I continually have the same conversation of not knowing french and hey, I can speak the language you speak with each other!

Overall I'm having a good time :)

Thank you for the comment. Yes, this was largely about the light source for me. Trying to imagine what the effects of the light would be on the water, etc.
