Considering how we are always bombarded with the "next thing" in social media it is nice to know that some people are sticking with what works best for them. Good to see you're still around here!
And after living in Morocco for two years I STILL wasn't sick of Moroccan food (granted I did make non-Moroccan food for myself on a regular basis). I'm excited to go back and taste some of those delicious dishes from the source.

I think the child and the bed succeed better than the shadow, which looks digital. :)

What makes the shadow more digital-looking (or less successful)?

Thanks for the comment/critique!

*squints at it* I think it's too blurry (blurry in the size of that fine diffuse edge you get with something like an airbrush tool) where it intersects with the more painterly wall, so you see the contrast too clearly. It makes the shadow look just a little artificial.

Otherwise, an interesting picture. Kind of disturbing though!

I see your point--although it is interesting to me that I built up the shadow area the same way as the bed/boy (in that I wasn't using a different, airbrush-like tool for the shadow, just carefully "hand"-painted the gradients).

Thank you for the analysis! I'm excited to play around some more.

Thank you and thank you!

Even when I took a LJ break I'd still come back to your LJ page--since that seems to be the only place to see new art from you. I always enjoy seeing your latest!
