In other news, I am a Frog.

If you put a frog in hot water, it will jump right out. If you put a frog in cold water and light a fire under it, it will sit there and let itself boil.

If you put an Aurora on a hot thing, she will jump off. If you put an Aurora next to a Tower Heater and turn it on, she will sit there and let her leg cook.

Twice.I now have 2nd degree burns ( Read more... )

You is bad. No burning yourself. *kisses leg* Poor love. Fluffy is be there soon and make it all better, otay? Fluffy loves you, even if you act blonde occasionally. So does she, so she can't judge.

Yes, allowing yourself to burn is blonde in this case, not unsmart. Because my Squishy is a smart critter and she's not to argue with that. Comprendes?

Ouch... that seems nasty. I've had some close calls of that sort (also with catching my long pants on fire from radiant heaters), but I've never gotten burns, much less second degree ones. Be kind to those blisters, don't get them infected. (Or else you might wind up with a habit of wearing sandals - not good for your weather.)

I expect that Toshiko will keep a watchful eye on you for the future: keep you uncooked and all that. I'm thinking of Al Gore's frog example right now.

Dove, one wouldn't develop a sandal habit from burns on the leg..... *hugs*

Well, the reason started wearing sandals was because I got a second degree burn on my ankle from dropping a pot of boiling water on my hiking boots and socks.

Then it go infected, and I wound up having liquid oozing out of the open wound for the better part of a year. (And found out I was allergic to the antibiotics, while I was at it.)

So when the thing finally closed up for real, I tired on shoes again, but they felt really, really weird. Like this thing trying to strangle or smother my foot. So I've stuck with sandals ever since.

It could happen to you.

Yes, Boy, it could happen to any of us. However, the burn is not anywhere NEAR her ankle. So she's not going to have to start wearing sandals. Even were it on her ankle, if you were here you would realize that sandals are NOT AN OPTION. It's called snow, lad. Snow. You get cold even in boots and thick pants and shirts and coats and cloaks and hats and gloves. So no, no sandals. Even if it were on her ankle.

Also, it is healing, and she is (finally) putting cut balm on it, so hopefully it will scar less. I is make my Aurora take care of herself. The silly creature.
