We arrived on St. Maarten today--before we awoke, and yes, I did notice the ship wasn't moving when I got up.

Sounds like a good day over all, except for the hurricane damage. That's too bad. Hey, you're on vacation. Take a nap! :)

I take a nap every day whether i am on a vacation or not! There were dozens of butterflies, and lots of iguanas on St. Maarten.

St Martin is a disaser zone - and tourism is its biggest source of income. glad the cruises are still putting in there at least. It took the brunt of Irma before she hit Puerto Rico. BIG difference, the French and Dutch governments CARE about the damage and the plight of the people *grin*

Apparently, the cruise was supposed to go to (I think) Tortula but it was too heavily damaged. St. Maarten had a brand new dock, but there were only three ships yesterday. The tour director said there could be as many as 6 there on any day, but right now the ships are only coming four times a week, not every day. He said most people could not repair because they had no insurance, and those that did were still waiting for their money.
