I just watched Ted Haggard and his family on the Oprah Winfrey show. I made Emerial Lagasse's potato and leek soup today. It smells wonderful ..."herby" with lots of white wine and cream. I have only had a couple of tastes...waiting for Doc to get home.

Those leeks sure were sandy though and I had to really scrub em good.

I cannot believe all this hype. I mean, on the one hand, I am thrilled that people feel involved and connected to our political process. But to me - the inauguration of a US President has always been an amazing sight to behold. So, working on my issues with my work - colleagues is going to be a priority of mine this year. Else, I will have to look for another job.

So - I am gong to focus my efforts on understanding other people, really listening and understanding them. Rather than attempting to get other people to understand me!

Heading to San Antonio next week on Business. Whoot.

I hate to even turn on the TV or hit MSNBC.com or foxnews.com.

The number of jobs that have been lost this year alone is really tough to believe. Jeepers.

My daughter is pregnant! Confirmed by her doctor with a due date of 6 July 2009. How the heck can I wait that long?

She has some minor problems, and she has to take it very easy ... but I am so excited / terrified.

I gotta start another quilt......OH OH OH!
