What abouts are you looking for, Donna? Like what kind of work, what kind of hours and what kind of pay? Depending on what you have to do and what experience you have, you might be able to get hired at SLU as a temp pool worker. Of course that's not the most stable job, but it is something.
Which library are you going to? As a noted city biblophile, I'm interested in which branch you're visiting.

I did finally get a job at a movie theater. It pays crappy, but it pays. I don't start until next Friday. I am walking distance from Buder. I know this because I walked today.
