My tv has just switched off. It just blanked out. No picture.. nothing. I think the tube is burned out. I asked someone what this means.. they told me that it means i need to get a new tv. Gah

Toshiba a great sony alternative

I bought a sony for my last tv... 26" with some cool features. the only reason I went with the sony instead of the comparable tosh is price... I was able to get a floor demo for under $200!!!! more than half off. got it at hi-fi buys... had sales dude pull up my account history on the computer (okay, actually my dad's which is why it really helped. Dad has just replaced most of his home theater system and did a few upgrades to his audio system, to the tune of about $15G. thanks Dad. can't wait to get the hand me downs! had it not been for that (no tosh demo available) I would have gone with tosh. as good as sony is, you are paying too much for the name.

I miss my Mits. Great tube, durable, well made. They killed off the tube line and went all big screens. Oh well...

But the Tosh doesn't suck.

That happened to my folks once, except that the sound still worked. It broke down at night so they ended up leaving it on any way like a radio or something.
