List 10 songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're not any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your journal along with your 10 songs. Then tag 10 other people to see what they're listening to. [lol no]

1. Smile Around the Face- Four Tet

GOD THIS SONG. Not really a band I thought I could ever get into, but with the right association and a few minutes, holy shit- This is an amazing song. TIMPANI ROLLS- guarantee good. This song seems a little corny to me as well, but whatever, it gives me chills so it can't be all that corny.

2. Soda Popinski- Javelin

linked to a live performance, because the song is extended, it's a hundred billion times more awesome this way, plus lyrics!
DIS SONG. PARTY FUEL. Pissed I wasn't in a mood to party both times I saw Javelin this year. I should've gotten down hard to this. REGRETS. The drum machine in the live performance is SO GOOD.

3. Whoopash- OCDJ

Starts out generic and dull (or maybe I've seriously over listened to it)but it builds into this fucking amazing 8 bit satire-esque pop hip hop, thing out of some otherwise meh song. I would love to see this guy (Dan Gaeta) live. Partying would be hard. (PS: everything he's done is amazing)

4. Milk's Gone Bad- OCDJ

I loved the original tune (Kelis- Milkshake) in a non-ironic way when it first came out- then I discovered this track and life as i knew it changed forever, basically. that is all. This video is shitty and annoying though.

5. Hands- Four Tet

beautiful. again, i don't often like stuff like this, but I gave it a chance and it's amazing. it's so mellow, but it's so visual and warm. The whole album ("Rounds") is amazing, save for a track or two.

6. Jupiter, The Bringer of Jollity- Gustav Holst (The Planets)

YEAH I BET YOU DIDNT KNOW I FUCKING LOVE ORCHESTRAL/ CLASSICAL. This composition has the most amazing, strongest, fullest, greatest in the world ever ever ever winds section ever. Deal with it BU
I wanted to find a video of a full orchestra performing this, but I couldn't find any that would allow embedding/ I liked enough.

7. Her Majesty's Midwestern Island- Defiance, Ohio

raw but upbeat and so fucking pure. "Don't usually dance with the cooks and the waitstaff, but here I am." Defiance, Ohio is one of the best anthemic [folk]punk groups out there. So fucking amazing live, so strong on a record. I have no complaints about this or their new album.

8. Hoop Dreams- Teengirl Fantasy

Because I paid attention to this song for the first time last night and AUGH WHAT A GOOD CLUSTERFUCK. Just enough organization to make it awesome, but so many layers of fucking ridiculous insanity gosh it's just good okay.

9. Portofino- Teengirl Fantasy

Heard it for the first time and my brain melted. Nothing is bad about this song, except for the fact that it ends.

10. Flood Waters- Defiance, Ohio

idk, this song reminds me of a song The Presidents of the USA would do, but with different lyrics or something. Same strength in the way they sing I guess. The song paints a very inspirational, depressing-but-we'll-make-it kind of picture. Amazing.
