The depth of your abilities will show up in digital as well. If you see this as a path to go, then do it. Diana

You'll still wind up using the linseed oil too though... ilexarts September 8 2006, 05:10:16 UTC
...if I had to guess. I love working with my tablet, but it's a totally different animal than traditional media. If you're a freak for the tactile elements of painting - just the "drag" of your brush, stylus... whatever... across whatever you're using for support, you'll miss it with the tablet (I almost always put a piece of paper down under the stylus) but it does have it's own slippery feel that's nice sometimes too.

Just add it to your arsenal, don't leave all the other media behind - no one says you have to.

You're so right, C... we did a lot of researching and discussing all day today, and came to just that conclusion. Frank was even the one that said "Who says you have to stop painting? I wouldn't want you to!" I do totally dig the tactile stuff, you're right..but today, I'm all eager to dive head-first into the digital art world. I've already got projects to accomplish, so I'm sure to focus fast and start learning. It's pretty exciting. =)
