Yes.. stock buying is fun.. and can be a little stressful. I love the stock market, but have been kind of out of it since moving here. I used to watch the market and get caught up in it too.. very exciting.. For now we're just sticking with mutual funds and doing the monthly investments. But I loved my finance classes in college...
Looks like you did an awesome job in research.. good luck with those buys!!! Hope they bring in the dough... the whole grains kind ;)
*HUGE GRIN* I'm so glad someone else understands. First pick is doing good, and even ECOL isn't doing as bad as we expected, so it might work out okie-dokie. =D Thanks, Heather. :)
I really understand.. I mean I really got into the trading thing.. My dad even put some money in an Etrade account so I could buy stocks for him with it.. with his money!!! Very fun. Did all that right around the time of the crash.. Bought a stock ELNT (Elantec).. Oh my god.. that sucker quadrupled.. With the crash we were lucky to not of lost everything.. B/c of that one stock it held him up and we got out.. RFMD.. did well and then nose dived.. they were so volatile at the time.. I got to where I couldn't keep track and just got out and licked our wounds.. we lost some money.. but not as much as we could have.. but I just increased the monthly money to the mutual fund.. Though I think when I have some extra money to invest I will take a little more time with research and find some less volatile and more stable stocks to buy for the long term. You know like Coke or something. I watched my aunt buy Cisco near the peak.. for $300 a share.. then they split 3:1.. so they were like a $100 a share.. oh. and then the giant fall..I
( ... )
Yes, of course I read your blog silly! I just have nothing to say about stock as I have no money to put there though... and time to research this stuff like you are - forget it. I let DH do all the financing junk anyway. He's better at spending my paycheck than I am when it comes to stuff like this and he has time - I'm just not bringing in enough money yet. I think I have to be a teacher for like 30 years to get to that point.
I'm still just floored that you actually read it. =D
My mom tells me that the kids in school now are being taught about planning for retirement... we never heard ANYTHING about that when I was in school, four or five hundred years ago. We were never taught anything about macroeconomics... maybe because teenagers are considered sub-human. *shrug* I dunno, but I certainly wish I'd known in my 20's what I know now. I'd never have been in a position where I had to trade sex for a place to sleep and some food, yanno? That's a terrible place to be. Does your school have classes that teach about these vital sorts of things?
