One might even say that most of living is done after the age of 40. At least, that's my experience. If it weren't, I'd have a lot more time to write a journal

hi dawn! you make being 40 sound wonderful :) (i'm only....8 months away - hehe) i love that photo of your dad and OMG your grand- daughter is sooooooo precious!!
Ain't my dad just handsome? =D I gotta agree about Carleigh being precious. It was amazing, and really life-affirming, to hold her.
You're gonna like 40. It's a great age, truly the prime of your life. There's no awkwardness, not much the way of insecurities... I don't know about other women, but this is my time to be empowered. I'm still young enough to enjoy all life has to offer, but old enough to appreciate the small, quiet moments as well. Accomplishment means more now than it ever did. My kids are adults and my parents aren't old enough to need diapers, so this is basically FREE time. I figure I've got 20 or so more years of this, and then I'll have to start doing old people things. =P You'll enjoy it. There's no reason to fear forty.
Ok, I can say that, because, well, I'm older than all of you (will be 44 next month, geesh how did that happen???)
Thanks so much for sharing your family time with us, Dawn, I've missed you! Your dad is adorable, I have to agree, and Carleigh Rose? Just beautiful! Give a big sloppy kiss to Bragi from his Auntie Tag, I haven't forgotten your painting either, it will again be in the works soon. :-)
Hey you! Its wonderful to read of your lovely family! Your Dad looks like a doll...reminds me a little of mine, with that big happy smile and twinkly eyes. And what a baby! She's sincerely beautiful. Good to hear, too, that Bragi had a great time. Here's to a quietly happy Summer!
HAR! My dad is awesome. He's got that dry, eye-rolling, loaded-with-irony sense of humor that I just love. He makes a great straight man to my mom's hyper-kinetic drama. =D
Carleigh is a total love-bunny. I am looking forward to getting to know her as she grows up. Thanks for the good wishes, Miss Dawn, and consider happiness wished back at you.

I've still got your gorgeous boys in suspended animation. Once the painting bug bites again, I'll get on it. ....could be a while. =P
