I agree. If you want your kid to have a unique name, then give them a unique name. A unique spelling just seems half-assed. ;)

Too true. It really just makes the parents look illiterate or moronic. It's not so hard to spell Zachary, Kathleen, or Mariah, yet I've seen them spelled Zacrey, Kaithliennye, and Maryeiah.

Tho giving a kid a unique name can backfire too. I've seen kids named after things and I can't help but wonder if the parents just had no clue, like one little girl named (I kid you not) Aphasia.

Also with the cramming of random syllables together. And apostrophes. Oh, gods the apostrophes.
