I think they honestly believe it. I've encountered a rare few, whom upon being debunked, will remove their post or post that they were wrong, but they're few and far in between. Most will either ignore or stick to their guns--they can't bear to believe they were wrong and suckered. And some of them just WANT to believe it (example: All Birthers who just can't be reasoned with about Obama's place of birth/citizenship status. I'm getting ready to clean my FB list of a couple of them because I'm tired of it.)
