Eeep! I'm very afraid of a movie version of Carnal Innocence. I fear the casting could go so horribly wrong. (Tucker is one of my favorite fictional characters of all time, and I really don't want my mental image of him permanently ruined by bad casting...)
The casting went horribly wrong on the other four movies, I see no reason they'll have to switch it up now, lol.
I meant the plot itself of Carnal Innocence is right up Lifetime's alley.
But that's why I don't want ANYONE to make the In Death books into movies, big screen or otherwise. I have my own mental images of Roarke, Eve, etc.. and I know the casting will suck.
Squee! I love her earlier stuff, especially True Betrayals and Carnal Innocence. I'd love to see them make Sweet Revenge into a movie; it's one of my favorites ever. The later stuff I enjoy, but the earlier stuff I want to marry. :)
Just read the first book of the Sign of Seven and the JD Robb book Creation in Death. Are the other JD Robb books full-length?
God, I LOVE True Betrayals and Sweet Revenge. Sweet Revenge is my favorite of her earlier stuff.
All of the other JD Robb books are full length. However, she has a couple anthologies out there with shorter In Death stories. To truly appreciate the In Death books, you need to start with the first one. It follows when Roarke and Eve meet and the characterization just gets better and better with each book. You end up truly falling in love with each character. I can't recommend the In Death books enough. There's usually lots of them on ebay. I also have a few duplicates you can have if you want them.
The earlier movies were okay for me. I didn't love them or hate them. My one big gripe was casting Heather Locklear in Angels Fall. And just the overall fact that squishing a 400 page book into basically an hour and a half of air time really cuts down on the authenticity.
That said...I LOVE LOVE LOVE True Betrayals. If Lifetime could make it right, I would love a movie for that one.
I think the Dream trilogy would work well for Lifetime movies.
