It's the same old batchipper/everyone else in fandom crap. I'm not sure I'd classify myself as a "batchipper" but I DO like Rose. Apparently that makes me a dreg of the Doctor Who social order and a crazy teenage girl running amok with hormones.
Also, I guess a line has been drawn after the latest episode. Apparently, if you DON'T like River, then you're a batchipper with no sense. If you DID like River, then you can't or don't like Rose.
It's really annoying. I'll be honest, with some of the crazy as shit fandom members out there, I can understand why some of the old school fans would think us newbies were idiots.
I can't find any mention of Torchwood's season 3 on the BBC website, so personally I'm just grateful there's talk of there being one - the massacre of the cast at the end of the second series made me think that that was it, especially with RTD saying he was moving on.
It sounds as though I've missed some fan in-fighting. I liked Rose (though I liked Jackie even more!), I had a soft spot for poor Martha, I adore Donna and from what I saw last week, I really like River. Shades of the Time Traveller's Wife! Doctor Who was never supposed to revolve around romantic entanglements in the old days - it was, after all, primarily a children's programme that the whole family could watch - still is, come to that. Eight year olds tend to be embarrassed by "soppy stuff", which is my understanding of one of the reasons why Torchwood was devised as adult relationships could be explored more fully there.
Is Dr. Who continuing without RTD? I'd presumed that the programme was going to take a break in his absence.

And I'll edit the post. Thanks :-)

I don't really look down on them, but so much drama and bullshit over a ship that shouldn't even be an issue in the first place is just INSANE. lol
I should do a post clarifying what I do and don't like about new fandom issues. lol
