I believe I have just found one of the most pretentious books in existence. Renaissance Art by Gerard Legrand (tell-tale name I guess), from the Chambers Arts Library. There is a collection of fancy words and lots of names, from artists to writers to philosophers to clergymen, yet not a single actual statement ( Read more... )
