Tidying through my cupboard, looking for my revision guide for Chemistry for Hazel as she requires it for her Uni course parts that she doesn't understand, and guess what I come across? A letter from Reigate Grammar School from June 2001. The contents of this letter? Ahh, the very downfall of my original journal ( Read more... )

ROFL

So basically, the school discovered that some pupils had blogs of some kind, not hosted on the school's network or anything like that, and decided to take steps to shutting them down? Why?? It's like a school demanding to see everyone's private diary and confiscating it if they moaned about homework in it.

Stupid people who try to fight change.

OH

MY

GOSH.

Busted. But it is wrong that they should punish you for writing your feelings! We are told to get them out somehow; surely it is better to write them down than to act upon them in real life!

and as for the websites....I don't think it should be illegal to LooK at things....what harm does that do?

"My" original journal? A whole crew, in truth. I wonder what their policy towards this kind of thing is these days... Also, did you know that Knapp left?

Also the allusions to "drugs" and "paedophiles" are the funniest parts of this letter by a long way.

Yeah I mean paedophilia may have come up as a topic of conversation but we never had links to child porn or anything like that. I think the only pornographic site there were links to was goatse, and even that is mostly for amusement and couldn't really be considered in any way linked with paedophilia or drugs. They just put those words in to cause parental action, which as you say is the most amusing part of the letter.

Haha, well the rest of the original journals still exist, they were just hidden; my parents made me delete mine, bastards. Anyhow, dawsmonkee > shotgunstow methinks :) And yes, I knew that Knapp left, Emma was there until July, and Sarah, whom I saw today, is still there - foolish child.
