I loved the Girlfriend's Guide! The What to Expect book has a ton of good information - but don't let the preachy crap about nutrician make you paranoid. Apparently these women think that a teeny tiny bowl of ice cream is a huge, once a year type splurge. Sure eating the way they talk about would probably be healthy - but WAY unrealistic!! For about two weeks all I could keep down was dark chocolate and citrus fruit and that book had me convinced I may as well be doing crack since I was clearly hopeless. But the month by month sections of what's going on inside your belly are WAY cool!!! enjoy!
see, I warned you people would start plaguing you with unsought advice, I just didn't add that it would be me ;)
i'm not even going to admit how many books like that I devoured. :) But the book from the mayo clinic almost killed me (literally - it almost fell on my head, and at 1000+ hardback pages, it sooo would have left a mark) So binge away!! Just really really really be carefull - at some point it will get to you and you'll start to think that everything you are doing is going to hurt the baby - totally insane, but it has happened to everyone I know. At the end of the day, your body is doing it all anyway; it's way cool to understand what's going on, but if you watch Stargate reruns all day for awhile instead of keeping up on your reading, you'll still be fine! nature rocks! Yea happy fun stuff!!!
I liked the what to expect book. It was helpful to me for all that stuff no one ever tells you...and you don't want to ask. They changed the lady's outfit on the cover. I think it was a flowerdy moo-moo at one time.
I also liked the babycenter.com website and it's groups. Everyone was really nice and it gave me someone to talk to after I got stuck at home during the last 6 weeks of my pregnancy.
I am so excited for you guys! Congratulations again.
hey! Girlfriends guide is my favorite, read them through all three of my pregnancies (Cause you tend to not remember a lot.. nature seems to work that way to keep population going i think :)
