My Goodreads giveaway wound up with 847 people signing up. Holy cow. Of course, what do I know? Maybe that's a small number. Anyway, I mailed the books this morning. Thanks to all who entered.
I hope so. I know not every book is good for every reader, but maybe if Finders Keepers doesn't suit the winner, they can pass it along to someone else who might enjoy it.
It occurred to me afterwards that I could have saved myself trouble my just ordering the book from Amazon and having it shipped to the winners rather than buying it myself and hauling it to the post office. Next time.
Goodreads chooses the winners and I thought it was just a random drawing but it turns out they use an algorithm that includes things like how active you are on the site.
It's not really fair for me to be annoyed that people don't leave reviews, because I don't review. I'm afraid of retaliation if I say anything less than glowing. Also, I know a lot of writers and I can't be objective.
Someone I read said you get something like a 1% review rate, ie 1% of the people who read the book review it. Based on my fanfic review rate, that sounds accurate, though that was when I was an established writer in the fandom.

Like Nilmandra said, it would be great if they'd review it. I'm getting annoyed that more people aren't leaving reviews. I guess it takes time...
