SHIELD scientist Farley Bennett sweated inside his moonsuit. He cursed their bit of Unidentified Space Debris for landing in New Mexico. Days he’d crawled around this thing with sensors for nothing but heat rash.
Suddenly the Geiger counter’s needle leapt to life. The air crackled with energy, building rapidly; Bennett lurched backward. “Control, what the hell?”
“Never [POP] anything li[POP] - off the chart -”
The power buildup whined audibly; Bennett stepped back further. “Hoshit-”
The earth trembled under him, and their immovable Debris flew, tearing a hole in the complex’s plastic roof. He stared up after it.
“Crap. Now what?”
